Crazy time!!!

WOW, WOW, WOW…………….Glad that is done!!  Was Christmas crazy at your house too?
I guess it was kind of my fault.  I was finishing up jammies on Christmas Eve day and managed hats to match that I also finished last minute.  Some may think that’s not so bad but we open our new jammies after dinner so that they can sleep in them and wear them all day on Christmas.  (It’s a tradition my mother started when I was a kid.)  The hats were new though………..they were just fun and I couldn’t pass them up.
I found the idea on Pintrest (yes, I am VERY addicted, thanks Stef!! lol) Just click here and you can make you one as well.  I did change a few things but never the less, the tutorial is great!
We have a divided house when it comes to sports team and the picture really does show that….
There's never a good picture of everyone taken in this house!

Now that Christmas is done, most people normally take a few days off before New Year right?  Oh no, not here.  For some reason I decided that we needed to start right away on the kitchen remodel.  Demolition of kitchen wall took place the day after Christmas!!  What was I thinking?!?!?!?!????  There is dust EVERY WHERE!!!! But I can’t even begin to describe how fun it was! – There is just something about putting a hammer through a wall to make your day better.   Talk about taking out some aggression!  My first couple of hits were on a stud and it didn’t go through.   My hubby just smile but I didn’t care, I just kept swinging!

Now I guess I better get off of here and go put the Christmas décor (after cleaning the dust of first) back into the attic…….

Who am I kidding……..Pintrest here I come!! – Why not?

Our Steven's first visit

I know it is a little late to get started but my Mother in law brought Malachi an Elf on the Shelf when she came up for her Christmas visit yesterday.  Malachi is LOVING him already!!  Works out great for mom because I only have to remember to help “Steven” find a new home each night three times before he returns to Santa.
This morning Malachi found the box he came in and the book that goes along with him.  He said – Moma!! Moma!! Look its just like him!!! – as he points out the window of the front door.

Since we can’t touch him, Malachi just told him (through the door) that he can come in whenever he gets ready.  There is also a small bowl of cereal waiting for him, whenever he decides he’s hungry I guess lol.

I thought it would be next year before we did this but Hey…..Why not this year?  Working out great thus far!

Brightens My Life!

My dear friend Mikal wanted to do something a little different for her birthday this year and sent this to all of her friends on facebook:
We are all so blessed with what and who we have in our lives. We may not be monetarily rich, but we have what we need: a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, and relationships--whether marriage, friendships, or our relationship with Christ. But not everyone can claim these blessings.
So on my birthday, I plan on celebrating by doing 37 random acts of kindness. Will you join me wherever you are by doing a RAOK or two yourself? This can be anything from taping some quarters to a vending machine with a note attached saying "Enjoy this random act of kindness" to loading groceries into the car for an elderly person to buying the lunch of someone behind you in the drive thru.
Please join me in making this the BEST birthday I can possibly have!!!

Well Mikal – you inspired me!!
Yesterday I spent the majority of the day in Atlanta for Micah’s autism evaluation at the Marcus Center.  But before I ever left the hotel to go to his appointment that morning I somehow managed to spill my coffee, burn my hand on the blow dryer, and almost fall getting out of the shower.  Needless to say, I was not expecting a good day.  I went down stairs to check out and have breakfast but decided to go to Starbucks instead (cheaper!).  After all I knew I would end up there before the day was over anyway.  The line was horrible!! (I didn’t know that many people were up at 8am- ha) When I got to the window to receive my order I decided to pay for the car behind me.  Never had I imagined it would make my day probably just as much, if not more, than it made hers.
From that moment forward my day just seemed to be better somehow.  Who knew 8 dollars would change my day.
Thanks Mikal!!

When I got home I decided to get ready for my next trip to Atlanta on the 10th.  I made goodie bags to hand out to all the homeless that were asking for money at the intersections.
With my coupon stock pile I decided to put together snacks, soap, deodorant, toothpaste and tooth brushes into a gallon zip lock baggie.  I will hand them this instead of money.  Hopefully God will use this bag to bless them and their day as well.  Now to go find scriptures to put in there.

Why do your best to make someone else’s day? – Why not?!?!?!??

Why are you creating a Blog?

All together now.....Why Not?

Truth be told I have been thinking about for a while.  I love sharing some of the things my family and I are up to and, well, I just can't put the whole story on facebook.  After all, every funny picture has a great story!

As a stay at home mom and the only girl in the house so I constantly feel alone.... Has this really happened?....I wonder if this is odd?.......Should I really feel this way?.........

These questions go through my head almost daily.  Soooooo my therapist (yes I am in therapy, no big surprise there) told me to keep a journal.  Well honestly that just flopped!  I figured if I could share the good, the bad, and the ugly with someone else that might understand, I might just stick to it.  I want this blog to just be like girl talk - almost.

Why why not?  Almost everything I do in life is judged or questioned by someone else.  Why did you pick that pair of shoes?.......Why do you call your child by his middle name?.....Did you really just get that tattoo?.......Why do you have those BIG dogs in your house?.......you get the point.  If you know me then you know my answer to each of those questions.  If you don't know me, refer to the blog title.

I also plan to share my crafts with the kiddos, ask for parenting advice, and just tell you about any crazy thing I came up with to do that day.  I like to live a life with no regrets.  I should not have to lie on my death bed wishing I would have done something different.  My all mighty God (yes I will be referring to him almost daily) does not promise us tomorrow.  I am EXTREMELY thankful that He has given me today.  So the question is, would you attempt your "whys" if the answer was always "why not"?

My disclaimer - Grammar police beware because I don't care!!  I write just as I talk.....Why?....Why not?  We are having a conversation not reading a novel.
